It is a sad fact that Benzoyl peroxide, Salicylic acid and Sulfur are the active ingredient in over 99% of all acne treatments. - Salicylic Acid/Sulfur Lotion contains a salicylate, which has been linked to Reye syndrome.
- Do not use Salicylic Acid/Sulfur Lotion on children or teenagers during or after chickenpox, flu, or other viral infections.
- Caution is advised when using Salicylic Acid/Sulfur Lotion on CHILDREN because they may be more sensitive to its effects.
Why does my acne keep coming back or get worse?
Simple, you develop a resistance to drugs. Acne products use Benzoyl peroxide, Salicylic acid and Sulfur as their active ingredients. These chemicals only temporarily dry out pimples and are only meant for short term use, a week or two. After a few weeks your skin will then naturally compensate for the lost oil, creating more oil and your acne comes back, most likely worse than before and often with noticeable skin damage.
