The FDA has also significantly downgraded the safety rating of Benzoyl peroxide: Action (56 FR 37622).

It is a sad fact that Benzoyl peroxide, Salicylic acid and Sulfur are the active ingredient in over 99% of all acne treatments. Benzoyl peroxide is proven to generates free radicals damaging cellular DNA causing serious premature aging and thinning of skin. After decades of testing on animals Benzoyl peroxide was proven to promote papilloma and carcinoma formations as well as melanotic tumors within the dermis "skin" of animals.
Do not use benzoyl peroxide on skin that is sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, irritated, infected, or reddened like pimples or acne. Doing so could cause too much medicine to be absorbed by your body and could be harmful. Benzoyl peroxide will bleach fabric and studies have shown that 76% of benzoyl peroxide users acquired a contact sensitization to benzoyl peroxide.

Restrictions for benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur

• Benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur are irritants "animal tested" and is readily absorbed from the skin.
• Do not use these acne drugs on or near clothing or they will bleach.
• Do not use benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur when pregnant or nursing.
• Do not use benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur in your eyes, nose, or mouth, or on the genitals. If contact with your eyes occurs, flush with water for 15 minutes.
• Salicylic acid in higher doses is commonly used to remove warts.
• Do not inhale the vapors of benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur
• Do not use benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur for long periods of time.
• Do not use benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or sulfur on skin that is irritated, infected, or reddened. (This describes pimples)
• Be sure to apply benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur only to the affected area and not to normal healthy skin.
• Benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur is extremely flammable. Do not store or use Salicylic Acid/Sulfur Lotion near a fire or other open flame.
• Do not use benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or sulfur on open skin wounds like pimples, moles, birthmarks, genital warts, warts on the face, or warts growing hair.
• Benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and sulfur may be harmful if swallowed. If you may have taken benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or sulfur by mouth, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
• Salicylic Acid/Sulfur contains a salicylate, which has been linked to Reye syndrome.
• Do not use benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or sulfur on children or teenagers during or after chickenpox, flu, or other viral infections.
• Caution is advised when using benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or sulfur on CHILDREN because they may be more sensitive to its effects.

Why does my acne keep coming back or get worse?
Simple, you develop a resistance to drugs. Acne products use Benzoyl peroxide, Salicylic acid and Sulfur as their active ingredients. These chemicals only temporarily dry out pimples and are only meant for short term use, a week or two. After a few weeks your skin will then naturally compensate for the lost oil, creating more oil and your acne comes back, most likely worse than before and often with noticeable skin damage. It's a dead end.
Even if a drug killed 100% of all the bacteria your acne would still come back because acne occurs when pores get clogged, bacteria and infections are side effects of a clogged pore. These drugs won't prevent clogged pores.

Why do acne products all seem to use the same three chemicals?
Most the acne products you have used in the past and especially the ones from TV come from marketing companies that also sell "never go dull" knifes, Dean Martin videos and blankets with arms in them. What about other natural acne treatments?

I am very happy I purchased LEROSETT. I bought the 4 piece acne system, and it has helped greatly! I suffer from painful, embarrassing cystic acne. I had used the clay as a mask treatment right away, (after of course washing my face first with the face wash) and saw immediate results, I was shocked! The clay mask brought a very infected pimple to a head (and this pimple was there for about 3 weeks already), so that was great because cystic acne occurred beneath the skin's surface leaving this large painful bump on your face.
