Since everybody is different this is difficult to say, the rule is that you apply more in the beginning and less as your skin clears.

There are just two methods of application for LEROSETT®, the spot treatment and the mask treatment and the combination of both.

1. For the mask method, the rule is apply a very thin layer, "almost translucent" it's not how much you use but how often and let the product dry for about 30 minutes, then remove with warm water. Bar soap contains a foaming agent called sodium lauryl sulfate known as "SLS" that is very drying to your skin, the foam is there for effect not for cleaning your skin. Longer Healing Period

Because this ingredient generates free radicals it interferes with and slows the healing process. The red and brown marks that are a part of the acne healing process may last much longer when Benzoyl Peroxide is used. As we now know, repeated exposure to the sun can and does cause skin cancer. Additionally, the FDA charged manufacturers with the responsibility of providing this information to consumers so they could make educated decisions. Many manufacturers and product marketers have not provided this information to skin care professionals so that consumers can be advised of the potential dangers. A more complete FDA statement is below. Use of benzoyl peroxide to control acne may involve side effects and risks that should be considered in making decisions on acne treatment.

Benzoyl peroxide, a widely used free radical-generating compound, promoted both papillomas and carcinomas when it was topically applied to mice after 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene initiation. Benzoyl peroxide was inactive on the skin as a complete carcinogen or as a tumor initiator. A single topical application of benzoyl peroxide produced a marked epidermal hyperplasia and induced a large number of dark basal keratinocytes, effects similar to those produced by the potent tumor promoter 12-O-tetradecanoyl phorbol-13-acetate. Benzoyl peroxide, like other known tumor promoters, also inhibited metabolic cooperation (inter-cellular communication) in Chinese hamster cells. In view of these results caution should be recommended in the use of this and other free radical-generating compounds.
